Writing Progress

The summer holidays are over, which means one thing – I’m able to write during the day once again!

I have finished off a chapter this morning, word count was nearly 250, so not much but I can’t get into the next chapter as I need to work on some outlines and figure their directions out.  The finished chapter isn’t on the path I imagined so I need to work out if I want to end it on a cliff hanger or if I want the reader to know exactly what it will lead to.  For now it’s an open ending.

There is a downside to daytime writing: my youngest is upstairs napping and I left my art book up there and if I go up he will wake!  So it’s back to A4 lined paper for note taking and fine tuning. I like to use an A2 pad for all the brainstorming (is it still called that or do I have to refer to it as Mind Mapping for the PC parade?).  I imagine next week will be a more organised week.

I have missed blogging on a daily basis but I think it got to a point where priorities were all wrong and so the break has done me good.

Regarding the recent published work, I am in the process of writing more articles for future newsletters as we speak, it’s nice to say I’m finally livin’ the dream!
