I opted for the gym as it’s equally important to exercise my body as well as my mind and I can happily say, from a vigorous workout, I’ve been rethinking project robot.
Its nothing major but the first draft, I think, needs a bit of shuffling around somewhat so instead of just rewriting the sentences I should map it all out again and from that framework of view find the best way to get to the end.
As a short story it should still be accomplished within a couple of weeks.
Last night I sat and edited my robot story and decided to make a couple of significant changes. Initially, it was set in a work environment, but for the target audience, I don’t think they would relate well. So I’ve changed it to a school setting, and instead of a mean boss, it’s a mean teacher.
I’ve been on an epic bike ride today and am unsure if I can edit tonight as I’m currently tired beyond the land of nod. I’ll give it a shot though.
Good morning everyone.
I like to set myself little writing goals every day, here’s what I have for today.
“Try and work on editing at least a third of project robot.”
It’s set in a work environment but I may change it to a school so it’ll be a bit more appealing to the target audience.
Good evening all. Thank you for your many likes and comments about this project, I really appreciate it.
Tonight I sent off work to find an agent. Through my hayfevery eyes I’m pleased to have found that fire within to get to this point. The fire that says “you can do it woman, if you can spend an evening googling ‘icanhascheeseburger’ then you must surely have time to get stories out of your brain”. Well I listened, did it, ate some chocolate, watched a bit of TV in between but I DID IT!!!
So while I say goodbye to one project (for now) I’ve already got new ideas sprouting but have opted to concentrate on finishing my other work. Project 2 is next on the cards.
This is where I could do with another 12 hours or so added to every day. That way I could easily get everything I wanted doing, done.
Will be posting very soon with an update. Keep on writing and listen to your own fires!
Tonight I finished the robot story. It’s aimed at young children and as there’s over 1300 words I’ll need to cut down a chunk of it at some point but the completion is what I’m focusing on currently.
I’m really pleased that in a short space of time I’ve wrote 2 stories, with a 3rd already on the way. I haven’t illustrated anything for the original project but I have ideas. With not having deadlines for any sort of publishing I’m just enjoying the writing part at this moment in time.
Last week I told you about my newest writing task, Project Robot. I’ve realised whilst writing it tonight, it’s going to be a bit of a longer story than Short Story.
I didn’t want to do something long just yet but I think after the edit I’ll be able to get it down to maybe 800 words. It’s over 1000 currently but for now I need to concentrate on finishing it and then take out all the unnecessary bits.
I’ve done about 350 words on it tonight and hope to finish it by the middle of this upcoming week instead. I’ve gone off track a bit but can easily see how to get back on it.
That’s where I am with things.
Keep on writing and enjoy the experience everyone!
